Hello Peter,

Thank you responding and for updating us as to the status of some PLoS features. I want to clarify--PLoS did get a perfect score--under the system I use you can't get more than 4 stars--and PLoS' overall rating was 4 stars.

cheers,
Renata

Thanks for this great review of our journals - very well researched and informative.

No one likes to score less than maximum marks :) so I would like to update you on some of the areas in which we currently scored low:

Asset Quantity: Our database of published papers is growing rapidly. This year, PLoS ONE alone will add about 7,500 articles to the total.

Search Functionality: The search problems you identified on our plos.org site will soon disappear as our 'new improved' search will also be made available via the search form which appears on the plos.org site.

Overall design: Our plos.org site is undergoing an overhaul, so look out for improvements on this item in the next few months.

iPhone navigation: Both our iPhone and our iPad apps were built by independent third parties. Part of the beauty of our Open Access license means that anyone is free to take our content and create their own app from it. Therefore we look forward to future developers making more apps than currently available.
